System Engineering Project 2

Welcome to our school project site dedicated to showcasing how we find, look into a domain and address our problem space. Following that, we come up with our solution in a creative and innovative way.

Our Vision

Creating a smarter, stronger Singapore by surfacing overlooked problems and delivering unique and innovation ideas.

Project Insight

Problem Statement

Nurses in Singapore face significant challenges when lifting patients who weigh more than themselves to assist them in clothes and diaper changing. This physical strain often results in back injuries, contributing to long-term health issues and reducing their ability to provide sustained care.

Solution Explanation

We are designing an inflatable and deflatable sleeve that slides beneath the patient. The sleeves will have 4 different inflatable parts, (sides, neck and knee), that will help to greatly assist nurses in tilting patients for clothes changing and diaper changing.

Adopted an Agile Methodology to choosing Domain

We adopted an agile, collaborative workflow for this project. Each team member was assigned a specific domain to explore, enabling deep focus within their area of responsibility. We held regular stand-ups to share progress and quickly adapt to evolving needs. When challenges or blockers emerged in a particular domain, we discussed them as a team to determine whether we could overcome the obstacles together or, if necessary, pivot away from that domain. This approach helped us identify a domain where we could effectively address the needs and deliver meaningful impact.
